Vehicles and Driving
Can I request a specific make or model of vehicle?
While we would love to promise you the exact car you have your eye on, we unfortunately cannot guarantee a specific make or model due to the wide variety in our fleet. What we can absolutely promise is that any vehicle you receive will perfectly match the class you booked. This means it will offer a similar size, passenger capacity and luggage space to ensure your trip goes off without a hitch.
If you have a strong preference, just let our team know at pick-up and we will do our absolute best to accommodate you with the options available on the lot.
Can I take my pets in the vehicle?
As much as we love our furry friends, pets are unfortunately not allowed inside our vehicles. We strictly maintain this policy to ensure every car is kept in pristine condition and completely allergen-free for the next driver. If any animal fur or lingering odours are detected when you return the keys, a cleaning fee starting from $299 will apply to cover the extra detailing.
We truly appreciate your understanding in helping us keep our fleet fresh, clean and comfortable for everyone.
Can I smoke in the vehicle?
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside any of our vehicles to ensure they stay fresh and clean for everyone. We want to maintain a comfortable and completely smoke-free environment for the next driver hitting the road. If our team detects any evidence of smoking or lingering odours when you return the keys, a cleaning fee starting from $299 will apply.
Can I take the vehicle off road or to the snow?
To keep our fleet in top condition and ensure your complete safety, our vehicles are strictly not permitted to be driven off-road or taken into any snow areas. While we know exploring off the beaten track sounds like a fantastic adventure, driving on unsealed roads or snowy terrain immediately voids your protection cover.
We strongly advise sticking to the sealed roads so you can enjoy a smooth, safe and completely worry-free journey across the country. If you are ever unsure whether your planned route includes any restricted areas, just give our friendly team a quick ring before you set off.
Can I drive the vehicle anywhere in Australia?
You can confidently drive our vehicles across most states and territories to enjoy a fantastic road trip across the mainland.
However, please keep in mind that travel into or out of the Northern Territory, Western Australia and Tasmania is currently not permitted under our rental agreement.
To ensure the complete safety of our fleet, we also strictly prohibit taking the vehicle on any barge or ferry transport during your journey.
Finally, please remember that our cars must stay on sealed surfaces at all times, so driving on unsealed roads or heading into snowy areas is simply not allowed.
Do I need to refuel the vehicle, and what fuel should I use?
We will always provide our vehicles to you with a completely full tank so you can hit the road straight away. To keep things simple and avoid any surprise expenses, please ensure you return the car to us fully refuelled at the end of your trip. If you happen to run out of time to visit a petrol station before dropping off the keys, a refuelling fee of $4.40 per litre will apply alongside a minimum charge of $20.
Whenever you are unsure about the exact fuel type to pump, just take a quick look at the helpful label located directly inside the fuel cover.
Can I use the vehicle to tow?
While we know having a little extra pulling power can be incredibly handy, towing is unfortunately not permitted with any of our vehicles. We strictly maintain this policy to protect the mechanical components of our fleet so the cars remain in absolutely top condition for everyone hitting the road.
If you need to safely transport extra gear for your trip, we highly recommend checking out our larger commercial vans and utes to easily handle the load inside the cabin.
Please keep in mind that attaching any trailer or caravan will immediately void your protection cover and leave you fully responsible for any resulting damage.
