Options, Extras and Accessories

Yes, Alpha Car Hire offers baby seats and booster seats for hire to ensure the safety of your little ones during your journey. You can add these essential accessories during the online booking process or request them when you pick up your vehicle at any of our branches.

Important Note: For safety and liability reasons, Alpha Car Hire staff are unable to install child restraints. It is the renter’s responsibility to correctly install all baby and booster seats in the rental vehicle prior to departure. Please ensure you are familiar with the installation instructions for the seat you are hiring.

Our Windscreen & Tyre Protection is an optional extra designed to give you peace of mind against common damages. For an additional fee of just $9.90 per day, this protection covers damages to both the windscreen and tyres of your Alpha Car Hire vehicle. This is particularly valuable as standard insurance excess often does not cover these specific components. Even if multiple incidents occur during your rental, this protection will cover them.

We highly recommend adding this protection as windscreen chips, cracks, and tyre punctures are frequent occurrences and can be costly to repair without coverage.

Yes, Windscreen & Tyre Protection is available for all vehicles in the Alpha Car Hire fleet, including our passenger cars, SUVs, and commercial vehicles (vans,utes, people movers etc.). You can easily add this protection to your booking regardless of the vehicle category you choose.

You can choose to add Windscreen & Tyre Protection at two convenient stages:

  • During the online booking process: Simply select it as an optional extra before finalising your reservation.

  • At vehicle collection: Our friendly staff can add it to your rental agreement when you pick up your car at any Alpha Car Hire branch.

Please note: This protection cannot be added after the rental period has commenced. It must be secured before you drive the vehicle away.

Yes, even if you booked your Alpha Car Hire vehicle through a third-party website (such as a comparison site or online travel agent), you can still purchase the Windscreen & Tyre Protection directly from us. Simply request to add it at the Alpha Car Hire counter when you collect your vehicle.

Yes, even with Windscreen & Tyre Protection, you are still required to complete an Accident Report Form for any damage to the windscreen or tyres. This is a mandatory procedure for record-keeping and insurance purposes, regardless of your chosen protection level. Please notify Alpha Car Hire as soon as possible if any damage occurs.

Yes, Alpha Car Hire offers GPS navigation systems as an optional extra for hire. A GPS device can be a valuable addition to your rental, especially if you’re exploring new areas in Australia, ensuring you stay on track and reach your destinations efficiently. You can add a GPS to your booking online or request one at the counter, subject to availability.

Yes, additional drivers can be added to your Alpha Car Hire rental agreement. For insurance and liability purposes, every person who will be driving the rental vehicle must be listed on the agreement. An additional daily fee typically applies for each extra driver. All additional drivers must meet Alpha Car Hire’s standard driver requirements (age, licence validity, etc.) and present their valid driver’s licence at the time of vehicle collection.
