Our Windscreen and Tyre Protection is a handy optional extra designed to give you complete peace of mind against some of the most common bumps in the road. For just $9.90 a day, this package covers any unexpected damage to both the windscreen and tyres of your vehicle.
This add-on is particularly valuable because standard insurance excess often excludes these specific components. We highly recommend adding this protection before you head off, as chips, cracks and punctures are incredibly frequent occurrences that can be quite costly to repair. Best of all, it keeps you fully covered even if you happen to run into multiple incidents during your trip.
Is Windscreen & Tyre Protection available for all vehicle types?
We absolutely offer our Windscreen and Tyre Protection across our entire fleet to keep you covered no matter what you are driving. Whether you are grabbing the keys to one of our passenger cars, SUVs or hardworking commercial vehicles like vans, utes and people movers, you can easily add this valuable extra to your booking. It is just another way we help you hit the road with complete peace of mind regardless of the vehicle category you choose for your trip.
When can I add Windscreen & Tyre Protection to my booking?
You can easily add our Windscreen and Tyre Protection to your reservation during the online booking process or at the counter when you come in to collect your keys. If you decide to wait until pick-up, our friendly staff will happily attach it to your rental agreement at any of our branches before you head out. Just keep in mind that this coverage must be completely secured before you drive the vehicle away from the lot.
We cannot add this protection package once your rental period has officially commenced, so be sure to lock it in early for total peace of mind on your trip.
Can I purchase Windscreen & Tyre Protection if I booked through a third-party website?
Even if you originally secured your vehicle reservation through a third-party website like a comparison site or online travel agent, you can still easily purchase our Windscreen and Tyre Protection directly from us. Simply let our friendly team know you would like to add this valuable coverage when you arrive at the counter to collect your keys. We will quickly update your rental agreement right there on the spot so you can head out on your journey with complete peace of mind.
If I have Windscreen & Tyre Protection, do I still need to complete an Accident Report Form for damage?
Even if you have securely locked in our Windscreen and Tyre Protection, you will still need to complete an Accident Report Form should your vehicle sustain any damage to those areas. This quick bit of paperwork is simply a mandatory procedure required for our record-keeping and insurance purposes regardless of the coverage level you have chosen. If you do happen to notice a chip, crack or puncture while out on the road, please notify our friendly team as soon as possible so we can help get everything sorted for you.
Are extra drivers allowed and is there a fee for them?
You can absolutely add extra drivers to our Alpha Car Hire rental agreement so you can comfortably share the time behind the wheel on your trip. For insurance and liability purposes, every person who plans on driving the vehicle must be officially listed on the paperwork before heading out. An additional daily fee typically applies for each extra driver, and they must all meet our standard requirements for age and licence validity. Just make sure everyone brings their valid driver’s licence to the counter when you arrive for vehicle collection so we can quickly get you all out on the road.
