How to find our Shuttle Buses
As part of Alpha’s commitment to providing the most enjoyable car hire experience to all our clients, we provide complimentary shuttle bus services to transport car renters from their airport terminals to our nearby offices.
Please see the directions below for each corresponding airport and location to see where and how you can catch a free ride from your airport to your rental car.
Shuttle Bus in Brisbane Airport
From Domestic Terminal
- Once you collect your luggage and are ready to go, please call (07) 3062 7439, so we can send the Shuttle Bus on its way to pick you up.
- Exit the Terminal and make your way to the Skywalk bridge;
- Once on the sky walk bridge, take the second set of escalators on the right down to B1/B2 ground level bus zone;
- The Alpha shuttle bus will pick you up.
From International Terminal
- Once you collect your luggage and are ready to go, please call (07) 3062 7439, so we can send the Shuttle Bus on its way to pick you up.
- Turn left into the arrivals hall;
- Look for the coach departure sign and exit the terminal;
- Proceed down the ramp, to the furthest set of Bays on the left at the bottom of the ramp;
- The Alpha shuttle bus will pick you up.
Shuttle Bus in Gold Coast Airport
- Once you collect your luggage and are ready to go, please call 07 5586 6900, so we can send the Shuttle Bus on its way to pick you up.
- Once outside, turn left and walk towards the Bus & Coach Transit Area.
- Once in the Shuttle bus area, look for the Purple Bus.
- Our Shuttle Bus can take up to 9 people at once.
If your flight is delayed, please notify us as soon as you can so we can provide you with an after-hour pick-up instructions.
Shuttle Bus in Sydney Airport
From Domestic Terminal
For customers flying in with VIRGIN, JETSTAR & Regionals (Terminal T2):
- Call us on +61 2 8355 1933 after collecting your luggage.
- Exit the terminal at ground level, turn left.
- Follow the footpath as it bends right toward Bays 4–11
- Go to the outer road section for public access
- Wait at the Park on King bus stop
For customers flying in with QANTAS (Terminal T3):
- Call us on +61 2 8355 1933 after collecting your luggage.
- Exit the terminal at ground level, turn right.
- Follow the footpath as it bends left toward Bays 4–11
- Go to the outer road section for public access
- Wait at the Park on King bus stop
A blue shuttle with Park on King and Alpha Car Hire signs will pick you up from the bus stop.
From International Terminal
- Please contact our office once you have collected your luggage on (02) 8355 1933.
- Exit the arrival hall of the terminal and turn right.
- Follow the signs to the Shuttle Bus/Mini Bus area. Please wait at BAY no. 22.
- Please look for the blue Park on King Shuttle and let the Driver know that you are going to Alpha.
- Please be aware in peak times a wait of up to 25 minutes may be expected.
Shuttle Bus in Melbourne Airport
- Once you collect your luggage and are ready to go, please call 03 8592 6377, so we can send the Shuttle Bus on its way to pick you up.
- Make your way to T1.
- Cross over one lane to the hotels and the off-airport parking buses area is on the right.
- Once in the shuttle pick-up area, wait for a white shuttle bus with green writing Easy Airport Parking.
- If your flight is delayed, please notify us as soon as you can so we can provide you with an after-hour pick-up instructions.
- There are no available baby seats in the shuttle bus. Children under 6 months are unable to travel on our shuttles, if this affects you, please contact our branch who will assist in collecting your driver to return to the rest of your party.

Alpha offers a complimentary airport shuttle that transfers customers between the airport terminal and the Alpha Car Hire branch. It helps bridge the short distance between off-site locations and major airports.
Why is the Alpha Car Hire branch not located inside the airport?
To keep rental prices low, Alpha operates from nearby off-airport locations. The free shuttle makes getting to your rental vehicle easy and cost-effective.
Is the shuttle bus included in the car hire price?
Yes. The shuttle service is completely free for Alpha Car Hire customers—there’s no additional charge.
Which airports offer Alpha’s shuttle service?
Alpha’s free shuttle service is available from:

- Gold Coast Airport
- Melbourne Airport

How often does the shuttle bus run?
Shuttles typically run regularly throughout business hours. Frequency may vary by location and demand. It’s best to call ahead or check your confirmation email for pickup details.
Where do I catch the Alpha shuttle bus at the airport?
Each airport has designated pickup zones. After landing, follow instructions provided in your booking email or contact the local Alpha branch for guidance.
How long does it take to get from the airport to the Alpha branch?
The shuttle ride generally takes 5 to 10 minutes, depending on the airport and traffic conditions.
Do I need to book the shuttle in advance?
While no separate shuttle booking is needed, it’s helpful to notify Alpha of your arrival time—especially if you’re flying in.
How do I request the shuttle upon arrival?
Once you’ve landed and collected your luggage, simply call the Alpha branch using the phone number in your confirmation email. The team will dispatch the next available shuttle.
Can the shuttle pick me up from a hotel or non-airport location?
No. The shuttle service is limited to airport terminal pickups and drop-offs. If you’re staying elsewhere, you’ll need to arrange your transport to the branch.
What are the shuttle operating hours?
The shuttle operates during Alpha Car Hire’s branch opening hours. Be sure to check hours for your specific location to avoid delays.
Is the shuttle service available for both pick-up and drop-off?
Yes. The free shuttle is available when picking up and returning your vehicle.
How do I return my rental car and get back to the airport?
Just return the vehicle to the Alpha branch and a shuttle will take you to the terminal. Allow extra time to avoid missing your flight.
What if my flight is delayed? Will the shuttle still wait?
If your flight is delayed, contact Alpha as soon as possible. The team will do their best to accommodate you within business hours.
Do I need to pay for parking if I use the shuttle service?
No. Since the shuttle picks you up from the airport, there’s no need for parking—another way Alpha helps you save.

An absolute joke of a company, do not use them, they offer you the lowest price ls for a reason but then when you return the vehicle they try and find as much fault as possible to charge you $150 cleaning fee for a little bit of rubbish which would’ve took them two minutes to clean up

Had my doubts initially but the shuttle came within half hr as it's not right at the airport and we had just missed the previous one. Picking up the car was easy then dropping off easy too. The staff were all helpful. And if you use tolls it just comes out of your account not from your bond. And it's school holidays up there so I was expecting massive delays we even managed to get an earlier flight since we left plenty of time to make it back to the airport. Will definitely use again when I need to hire a car as it's way cheaper even with insurance

Apart from a slow vehicle pickup (due to inexperienced staff member) our experience with Alpha car rentals was great. The shuttle transfer from the airport was easy and the car we chose was clean and well presented. It ran well with no issues for the 7 days. At the end of our trip the drop off was quick and easy and we got their shuttle back to the airport to get a taxi into town. I will be using them on our next trip to Australia.

I hired an MG hatchback for three days. It was a budget experience, but the price was much more competitive than major brands.
The car wasn't ready when we arrived. We had booked it for noon, arrived at 1 pm, and did not leave until 1:30/1:45pm. The manager was friendly and apologetic.
Re: the shuttle bus, on both trips—pickup and return—there were more passengers than seats. We boarded early and got on, but some passengers were left behind.
All staff were pleasant, and the overall experience was fine. Still, the service could be improved. Scheduling shuttle runs based on booking times, or prioritising passengers by flight departure, would help.
Alpha is substantially cheaper than other car hire companies. I would book with them again to save the several hundred dollars compared with the main brands, though the savings may not justify the wait times for shorter bookings.
If you use Alpha, allow extra time at both ends of your trip. The shuttle runs about 25 minutes round trip, and you may need to wait for the second bus.

My experience with hiring from Alpha was seamless. Originally opted with them for the price and appreciated how good the service and vehicle was. Called from the arrivals at the airport and was given clear instructions for the shuttle, added all my details during the shuttle ride over which made pickup really swift. Drop off was the same, quick and then shuttled to the airport.
One thing, that was confusing was the toll charges. Im not from Brisbane, so tolls are new to me and a bit more info would have been good. Luckily I just told Google Maps to avoid tolls to make it easier when it came to paying them.

The distance from the airport is considerable, yet the complimentary shuttle bus service alleviates any inconvenience. The staff members were notably amiable.
I was even provided with an upgrade to a superior vehicle, and while it was aged and emitted peculiar sounds, it was perfectly acceptable.
The situation that arose was that when I made my reservation online, insurance was explicitly presented as an optional extra, and I selected it for added security. However, during the car collection process, another insurance option was presented... It offered a refund in the absence of an accident, so I opted for it as well, although its details were somewhat unclear.
I have yet to return the vehicle, but thus far, everything has been satisfactory.
I would certainly recommend this service, were it not for the complexities surrounding the insurance aspect.

I had an excellent experience with Marita who was very helpful with the car rental and her customer service was great. I had an issue with Booking.com but she helped me sort out the booking last minute 😊 The car was nice and well priced. I would definitely come back next time I need a car rental and recommend to others. Only suggestion I would make is to include a charger in the car for customers to charge their phone/devices

As I hadn't received any communication from 'customer service' regarding the substandard car they had rented out to me...I drove it back to Alpha at Brisbane.
I'm happy to say that a lovely lady called Erin, exchanged the 'jallopy' to a lovely, secure vehicle..no hassle whatsoever.
I just hope I don't find any hidden charges at the end of my rental agreement....

It was quick to pick up and get on our way even though our car was not ready to go we were just given a better car and said we could be on our way. Great new car as quick on drop off. Heaps of staff at hand to make sure it was a fast process

Having hired a car in march 2025 at alpha car rentals in brisbane australia i was very impressed by the shuttle service pick up at brisbane airport and so delighted to meet Mike who made the ride to the rental office so enjoyable. Although we had a wait at the office for the car we booked for hire, it was made less of a wait by talking to the staff about the area, which was the best route to take to get me to my destination. I found them very helpful, knowledge, totally supportive and honest in not trying to upsell me insurance i didn’t need.

One of the best rental experiences I've had so far! The shuttle bus pickup was seamless, and the drivers were friendly, courteous, and attentive. I had several pieces of luggage, and they helped me load them onto the bus, making the process stress-free.
The counter staff were welcoming and informative, and the rates were the most affordable I found. They even helped adjust the rental hours to maximize my usage. The child seat hire was also cheaper than other providers.
Best of all, the bond was released within 30 minutes of returning the car. I’ll definitely use this company again when I visit Brisbane!

Not familiar with Brisbane airport and Alpha made it stress free with prearranged shuttle to site. Hassle-free check-in to pickup vehicle and drop off on return. Company cars modern spotless and comfortable. Very much made a 4 day trip from NT easier. Recommend company to others.
