Virgin Australia promises to provide passengers with a better and more affordable way to fly between Tasmania and Western Australia with more flights going from Hobart to Perth.
The new service, which will provide flights to and from the two locations provided by Boeing 737 aircraft. Flights will be scheduled three times a week starting on September 17. Officials made the decision after they noticed the spike in Tasmania’s tourism along with Western Australia’s cafe and beach industry.
Fares start from $269, with more than 55,000 seats between the two state capitals made available.
Once the new service opens, it will help travellers save at least one hour of travel. It can also help passengers avoid getting a connecting flight from Melbourne.
“The Tasmanian Government warmly welcomes this new service which will increase the opportunity for people to experience Tasmania’s unrivalled natural environment, world-class produce and events.” Tasmanian Premier Will Hodgman said in an interview.
Aside from these flights, Virgin Australia started another service: daily flights from Sydney to Hong Kong. They also revealed plans to reinstate their regular Melbourne-Hong Kong service at a later date.
