Avocados are fruits rich with natural vitamins. There are plenty of ways to eat an avocado, and with its small size, you’re going to need a lot of them; or at least a larger fruit. Luckily, giant avos are readily available near you.
Luckily, you don’t have to look far because you can get giant avos right here in Queensland. Dubbed “Avozillas”, these avocados are five times bigger than a regular sized avo. This gives you the opportunity to make more guacamole and other avocado related dishes.

These large avocados are a cross between the West Indian avocado and the Guatemalan avocado.
The Groves is a farming family from Queensland. They brought these huge avos to Australia and planted 400 avocado trees on their land.
Because of the limited number of trees, they were only able to supply specialty fruit stores.
However, 2000 trees were planted in Bundaberg. So, the public can expect these avos to make it into their local grocery stores and supermarkets in the coming months.
Aside from Perth, these avos are available in Sydney and Adelaide for $12. They are a big hit to avo and health enthusiasts alike.
Some consumers were concerned with the quality of the fruits. But Groves has reported that it was just as buttery as a Shepard or a Hass.
He also urged the public to continue their support for the local avocado industry which is slowly coming back after Cyclone Marcia devastated Queensland in 2015.
Would you like to try these giant avocados for yourself? Then drive to the nearest store in a rental car (or ute) to fit the many avos.
