A well-planned holiday or business trip would not be complete without a hire car. Avoiding the hassle of using public transport or the expense of taxis is just a couple of reasons for opting to self-drive. In a city as large as Sydney, there is so much to see and do in a relatively short space of time that a car is the best way of seeing what you want, when you want.
Sydney Airport Pick-up
Sydney Airport is the logical place to pick up a hire car, and while some companies have their business at the actual airport itself, there are others that are a little way removed from the airport, but still provide excellent service and rates. They will pick up their pre-booked clients from their flights in a shuttle bus and take them to the depot to collect their cars. There is no delay or drama getting a Sydney car hire, and the traveller is on the road in no time, ready to begin exploring Sydney.
As the most populous city in Australia, and one of the world’s premier tourist destinations, Sydney has a network of excellent freeways and major arterial roads and, aside from being busy as would be expected of any city this size, is relatively easy to drive around. Some hire car companies offer satellite navigation devices as an optional extra, so finding your way around is a breeze.
The Sydney Opera House, Darling Harbour and of course, the fabulous Harbour Bridge are all must-see items. For the history buffs, a visit to the Rocks area will take you back to the first settlers, and a harbour cruise will take in such other historical landmarks as Fort Denison. A visit to Luna Park is purely just for fun, and the visitor could easily spend a day at Taronga Park Zoo, marvelling at the natural environment that has been created for many endangered animals.
Bondi Beach not just for Celebrities
A quick swing to the southern beaches and you will find yourself pulling into the car park near the famous Bondi Beach. Weather and time permitting, the beach and surf is always inviting and hopefully, you won’t become a story on Bondi Rescue. As dusk is falling, the hire care will find its way back to your accommodation, so you can have dinner and prepare to experience the Sydney nightlife.
Another benefit of having a hire car is that the visitor is not confined to the Sydney city centre, but can strike out to other attractions that are within a couple of hours driving distance. The Blue Mountains to the west are an excellent destination for a day trip, and Newcastle to the north is just two hours’ drive to some of the best surfing beaches in the country.
Cheap Car Hire Sydney Airport
None of this would be possible without having the flexibility a hire car provides. Even business travellers can fit in some sightseeing after work if they have the convenience of their own vehicle to take short trips. A hire car is necessary when visiting Sydney.
