Pending Transactions Explained

How Long Do They Last?

When you swipe your card at the counter, we secure your Security Deposit as a pending transaction. Once you return the vehicle, we immediately release that transaction on our end.

The time it takes for your bank to fully clear the pending status and update your available balance can vary, but it usually takes just a few days to a week.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if I believe a charge needs reviewing?
Contact Alpha Car Hire immediately with any relevant documents and our team will gladly look into it right away.

What if my pending transaction is taking a while to clear?
If it’s taking longer than a week, get in touch with us to check the status. Usually, your bank just needs a few extra days to process and release the funds.

What happens if I don’t have the Security Deposit ready?
We do need a Security Deposit processed before we can hand over the keys and get you on your way.

What happens if I discover damage after I’ve returned the car?
Let us know as soon as you can. We will review the claim and check our branch logs to help sort it out fairly.

How do I pay an excess fee?
For a smoother process, it is typically balanced directly using your Security Deposit. If the deposit amount doesn’t cover the full cost, you will simply need to cover the remaining balance.
