Australia would not be the same without the impact of worldwide culture. From the 8th to the 23rd February, Brisbane will celebrate the Asian influence with a two-week free festival. Based mainly in the CBD, each day of the festival will include a range of art, performance and food from across Asia.
The events put on by the Brisbane City Council all seems fairly impressive, however one of the events that really caught our eye was the Eastern Odyssey. It’s set to take place on Sunday the 17th of February at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens. For those of you who are visiting Brisbane, the event gives you the perfect chance to explore the lovely gardens whilst listening to some of the best classical musicians from Japan, India, Mongolia, Tibet and China.
If you are looking for something that the whole family can enjoy, then check out King George Square on Thursday 21st. From 5pm onwards, the square is going to be transformed into a game centre where you can learn and play popular games such as Chinese checkers!
There is actually something to do and see for every age group at the BrisAsia Festival. For holiday goers, it offers the opportunity to see some of the city’s best assets in full swing, whilst for locals the chance to celebrate the rich and growing diversity that makes Brisbane, Brisbane!
